Where to buy Vytec battery

Postby Cameron_R » Sat Apr 04, 2009 11:38 am

Hey,

I need to get a new batter for a Suunto Vytec (DS). I intend on installing it myself. According to the manual the exact battery is a

3V lithium battery: CR2450 (K5597)

Any ideas on where is the best place to get one? Online stores work for me as well as any place in central Auckland.

Thanks in advance

Last time I replaced mine, I got the battery from Foodtown.... CR2450 is a fairly common battery, most camera shops will stock them i would have thought. Global will definitely have one is stock as well.

Thanks Andy. I just assumed that it'd be some crazy battery only found in Japan.

Good on Suunto for making life easy!

Its the word censor on here....getting rid of certain words like D1ck ...I think anything nasty comes up as "Bubbles" allthough I suspect that there is some glitches in the word censor as some everyday words I have typed in the past have come up as "Bubbles" weird..

Haha... i've never quite heard of that store before!

I struggled a bit to find a battery for my computer (J size 6 volt), until my LDS came to the rescue and sourced one for me :)

Haa haa! What did you say again?   NEM's right, it is the word censor. Probably should change it but that was funny

Slighly more on topic, I would avoid D!ck Smith personally because it will probably be more expensive. I could be wrong and that's my personal choice though ... :D

I second this as a recommendation. TESA are the go to guys for batteries.

Battery replaced!

Just out of interest, the battery lasted 240 dives (from early May 2007 to end March 2009). Don't know how long the battery was in the unit before I purchased it. Given that I enjoy long dives, that seems fairly good to me.

Very easy to replace. Just unscrew the back, put new battery in, inspect o-ring and screw shut again. I did soak in fresh water to check for leaks, it was fine so straight back into use.
