Suunto Transmitter (for D4i)

Postby michaelgregg » Fri Dec 07, 2012 1:57 pm

I'm upgrading my old Uwatec Aladin Z Nitrox Computer with a Sunnto D4i & Suunto transmitter and just want to double check that the old transmitter can be simply swapped out before I commit. Currently goes into a std ScubaPro first stage HP port. I'm buying from out of town so will have to fit it myself.

Anyone had any experience with these?

Are you asking if the old transmitter can be un screwed form the 1st stage and the new transmitter be screwed back in?

Then the answer is yes ( 99%). There is only one thread type used in modern 1st stage regulators for HP ports and that is a 7/16th 20 tpi thread with an oring seal (SAE).

Just be care full to not over tighten it. It is sealed with the O ring and not the thread. General rule is finger tight seals it and another 1/4 turn or so if needed stops it working loose.
