Wills 100 and then 101 metre dives made the news here. He just keeps pushing the boundaries.

There was a 60 Minutes NZ piece on Will a year or two ago

It's a shame about the 'logical order' requirement, it takes it away from the amazing accomplishment.

Nice to see kiwis pushing the boundaries though..

I cant think of anything more relaxing, than being in the downunder, breathing some nice clean fresh filtered 21% nitrox.

Yeah, I have discussed the 'logical order' they have to do the surface protocol in with a frend who happens to be AIDA NZ president. The thing they are trying to do is ensure that the divers are functioning to the same level after all dives.

Interestingly NZ has more top free divers than most countries. Check out David Mullins from Wellington (he has posted on here occasionally as Mullins).

I think it's great there is a test of of mental faculty at the end of the dive. Can you imagine how much more dangerous it would be if the only requirement were to be able to start breathing again?

At least this forces the diver to hold a little back so they can do the routine at the end.

Agree with Binks.

Yes, I wonder why there are a lot of 'Freedivers' from eNZed ?
Could it be the delicious Crayfish?
