Poor Knights with Akl free diving, Lazy Seals & Breathtakers

Postby Phantom Menace » Fri Oct 31, 2014 6:31 pm

Last weekend I organised a couple of days at the Poor Knights. It started as a trip for the Auckland Freediving Club and then grew into what may have been the largest gathering of free divers in the country with members of Lazy Seals (Wellington) and Breathtakers (Palmerston Nth) coming along. We had 29 people out on Saturday and 21 on Sunday.

I will post a few pictures and videos on this thread as the crew edit them. Here are the first few:

Wade OneBreath video from Blue MaoMao Arch: http://youtu.be/vuDUyTiILpQ

Phil Nofins stills - Rikoriko cave etc.: https://www.flickr.com/photos/99572240@N05/sets/72157646672101743/
(I like number 3 - Braden swimming through his own bubble ring (this was at the entrance to Rikoriko Cave - he had to wait for the ring to get big enough for him to fit through)

I cant think of anything more relaxing, than being in the downunder, breathing some nice clean fresh filtered 21% nitrox.

Yes, they are great pictures. Phil manages to get some awesome pictures at times - he took the shot that I am using as my avatar (seal and me).
