hi simon,, i think coc is a good idea, it keeps track of who is teaching and where, what i dont agree with and have a problem with is the $75 dollars we pay to des each year, where does this money go?? in to his pocket? how does it cost $75 for a man behind a desk to look a piece of paper and decide whether a diver is fit when he didnt conduct the the original medical, i and many others in this field would far prefer to see a doctor face to face that charged $75 dollars for the appointment and paper work.. we as dive professionals undergo more strenuous conditions in occupational diving than students, whom are reccomended to have a medical each year. so why dont instructors have to undergo one each year, instead its every 5 years,, and in between that we fill out an evaluation form, and that costs $75 dollars??? alot can change in 5 years.. i just dont understand!!.. ?? can you shed some light on this and the possibilty of change??
