Welcome (and now a little bit about us!)

Welcome to Scubadive New Zealand, our online diving community. We thought we'd take a few moments to tell you a little bit about us, what we do and why we do it.

We are a group of divers from all walks of life. Most of us are from New Zealand, (or live here as expatriates from the UK, it seems!) and the majority of us are divers or somehow otherwise linked with the aquatic world!

We come here to share ideas, tell others about our dives, ask questions meet other divers, get something off our chest and, although we're not a club, we do go diving with each other quite a bit.

This is our mission statement:

The forum was created in November 2006 to to provide a collaborative resourse for divers from New Zealand and all over the world -featuring access to education, information and communication resources and promoting participation in scuba diving and enhancing the dive community socially, culturally and economically.

We set out to achieve this through these specific means:

 By providing public access forums for members and future members
 By providing an organisational structure that encourages member and user participation and policy and fiscal oversight to assure the highest standards of networking and support.
 By developing the means for members to interact with each other, with elected administrators, moderators and industry professionals.
 By locally maintaining our website.
 By forming affiliations with service agencies to help share information.
 By promoting scuba diving, safety, training and conservation.

The administrators and moderators of the Scubadive New Zealand forums will continue to seek out additional information, education and communication resources to broaden and deepen the quality of the network and enhance its value to members.

We will also continue to seek and develop partnerships and collaborations with individuals to enhance the quality of the network.

We thank you for helping us all achieve this.
