I almost fell off my chair when I heard them say how much the recovery/refloat is going to cost

Yikes 300 million? I didn't catch what currency that was in. As it was a voice over I assume being an Oz show it'll be in AUD.

I hope the cost of salvage of the stern section of the Rena will be prohibitive. (selfish I know)

I am assuming AUD, which means it is super f$#King expensive because the AUD is basically on par with the USD.

I have not bee following the Rena much of late ... are there plans for salvage??

Not sure, there was talk of using a girdle like arrangement that would cut through it in sections which would then be lifted out. Wait and see what the weather serves up. If we get lots of big seas that they can't operate in I reckon it'll be left once they get the Bow section off.
