Karaka Point

I have dived Karaka Point a few times with students. It can be a boat dive or a shore dive (although the trek down the cliff can be a bit arduous especially post dive!!)

Went for a dive here a week or so ago and had that fella Boris (blind old b@stard) hang out with me all the way round the Vara, kept winding round my legs then getting upset when I kept bumbing into him.. Looked funny as all hell apparently :)

The walk down sure is fun but broken into a couple of trips is not so bad.

It was a refreshing 12*C and the Viz was pretty darned good at about 10-15m.

It really is a nice wee dive. :D

i dive mastered a dive course with 15 students one weekend there, lazy buggers couldn't carry their tanks down and the boat was out of use for some reason,i hate that hill spent ages taking tanks up and down the hill in the hot sun,the plus side is picton went off at night got mega ripped(tanks felt heavier the next day)

Such positivity resonates from your post Andy! I do hope you have had a good dive here too

I can certainly understand Andyinthebox's comments. That hill SUCKS with a full load of gear, let alone multiple trips with everyone elses.
The actual diving is not too bad.
