Mikhail Lermontov - advice?

Postby kiwilassee » Thu Dec 16, 2010 1:18 pm

Am thinking of heading down in March / April to dive the Mikhail Lermontov. Both us have about 30 dives experience. Just wondering if there was any advice for us? Good dive companies? Is that a good time to go? How many dives should we plan ? Any other good dive spots around? etc

THANKS!

Without a doubt the best option is to go to the Lermontov Lodge with Brent from Godive Marlborough.

You can do weekend stays or organise something longer if you want.

I've stayed there a fair few times now and it has always been great.

+1 on Brent from GoDive. We spent 5 days diving it with him last month. It was great!
He probably knows the wreck better than anyone else.
If you really want to make the most of it do a Nitrox course with him at the same time and also get as much diving in before hand to get your experience level up.

Yup Have to Agree - with Brent having done over 1000 dives on the Lermy you can say he knows the ship rather well. Awesome Facilities and great diving!

Does anyone know what's up with Go Dive Picton? Their website has been down for ages now... we're off to Marlborough end of Feb 2013 and keen to book in a dive on the Lermie

I think you are right, but Brent is still running the rest if the business including trips.
